Storyteller

I come from a long line of storytellers, where stories traditionally carry with them deep messages, morals and life lessons passed down from one generation to the next. At a young age, watching my Nigerian father entertain with folk stories and fables from Africa at various festivals, events, and around the fire at home, I learned the impact that good storytelling can have in igniting connections between peoples. This insight has led me to search for new venues to bring people together, and to create spaces where everyone is comfortable to speak.

My Approach

Personally, storytelling has been a valuable tool for practicing self-awareness, and authenticity. I often experience an intense stage fright, but I love the exhilaration and learning opportunities that I receive from asking myself to do something that part of me feels unable or unwilling to do. Because of that, I feel quite vulnerable while I’m telling stories and often find I am able to connect better with myself and other people in those times. I love the way stories can help to explain and offer clarity around some of the most intricate and confusing parts of life.
